Please Welcome Dr. Dane Nelson to Aberdeen Dental as the New Dentist & Owner!

Please welcome Dr. Dane Nelson as the new owner and doctor of Aberdeen Dental! Dr. Nelson grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he graduated with honors. He then returned to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2016. After graduation, he started his career serving our country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. During his active duty time, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in the Chicago area, served overseas at a Marine Corps base in Iwakuni, Japan where he was awarded a Navy & Marine Corps achievement medal for his excellence in clinical work, and led a dental clinic in Washington state. Dr. Nelson has over 8 years of clinical experience, and over 4 years in private practice. He has treated tens of thousands of patients of all ages and dental needs in his career and he is now excited to fulfill his dream of owning a dental practice! Dr. Nelson is particularly passionate about comprehensive patient care, especially restoring or replacing missing teeth for esthetic and healthy smiles. He keeps up on these modern dental treatments through extensive continuing education coursework and has completed over 10 times the required hours needed to keep his license active. He has completed extensive training in esthetic dentistry and surgical implant dentistry including a year-long implant surgery program with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry held in Vancouver, Canada. In his personal life, Dr. Nelson is an avid traveler and sports & outdoors enthusiast. He has even lived abroad in three different countries - Spain, Denmark & Japan! He enjoys running, biking, hiking, camping, fishing, snowboarding, nordic skiing, and spending time with his family & friends. Dr. Nelson is excited to meet you and to take great care of the patients of Aberdeen Dental!

  • A native Minnesotan, Dr. Nelson graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and began his career serving our country in the U.S. Navy Dental Corp as a lieutenant.   • Some of his continuing education accolades include: receiving advanced training in cosmetic dentistry (crowns and veneers), endodontic treatment (root canals), and surgical implant dentistry (dental implants and extractions), including a year-long implant surgery program with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry held in Vancouver, Canada. 
  • In his personal life, Dr. Nelson is an avid traveler and sports and outdoors enthusiast; he enjoys running, biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding, fishing, nordic skiing, and spending time with his family and friends.
  • Fun fact: Dr. Nelson has lived in three foreign countries - Spain, Denmark & Japan!
